Do TX Process Servers have to be licensed?

Texas Process Servers do not have to be licensed. However, they do have to obtain certification from the Texas Judicial Branch Certification Commission. This certification is good for two-year increments and process servers must undergo an extensive criminal background check and complete a training course in order to be certified.
